A charging bull gores a young Spanish man to death at during the famous running of the bulls at Pamplona's San Fermin festival. It is the first such fatality in nearly 15 years. Three others are gored but live and six suffer lesser injuries.

A replica of the Statue of Liberty is stolen from a Brooklyn cafe -- and resurfaces in a video on YouTube that appears to show the statue's decapitation amid messages condemning America. Police are investigating the theft. The Vox Pop cafe, which owns the statue, stands for freedom of speech, and the shop operator hopes she can find a replacement.

Sen. John Ensign's parents gave the Nevada Republican's mistress and her family $96,000 after they learned of the affair, an attorney for the senator says. The statement comes a day after Cindy Hampton's husband told a Las Vegas television show that Ensign paid her more than $25,000 in severance.
